I’ve been saying it for years, but now more then ever, custom promotional stickers and decals are a marketing / advertising medium that just can’t be ignored. If you have a business, organization or message to promote you can not ignore long lasting guerrilla marketing stickers. “Stickers” aren’t just for kids anymore – they’re powerful sales and identity building tools that need to be a part of any business or organization’s marketing program.
I recently put an article together about marketing and building identity with custom vinyl stickers. In preparation, I found myself going directly to the Sticker Design Tips at Websticker. There is some great information there and I highly recommend you take a look at the 10 tips which basically constitute a class in Guerrilla Marketing Stickers 101. Covered briefly are these recommendations:
1. Leave enough time to design and order
2. Think about your purpose in producing promotional stickers
3. Look around and do some research
4. Keep designs simple!
5. Bigger isn’t always better
6. Consider Die Cutting
7. Think in reverse
8. Consider printing on the back of stickers
9. Making it clear?
10. How sticky do you want it?
These are general considerations that can lead to much more powerful and effective sticker guerrilla marketing campaigns.
To summarize:
Review your goals and target market; have a plan for distributing the promotional stickers & decals; and get design / layout assistance (Websticker can help for free) to best maximize guerrilla marketing stickers power and exposure before and after application. If you are considering designing and/or producing promotional stickers I highly recommend you head over to the Sticker Design Tips Page and spend just a few minutes reviewing.

Stickers, especially those that are wonderfully designed, appear attractive to people in general. Even though they are printed for business purposes, people would love to receive them. Unlike flyers and brochures – which usually land in the trash bins soon after they get received – stickers are able to serve its purpose for a longer time as it sticks almost everywhere.
You can hand out flyers and business cards, but these are for the most part discarded or forgotten. An attractive sticker usually ends up displayed somewhere for that person and many others to see. Stickers can end up in a visible place for years, constantly grabbing the attention of prospective clients, fans, etc.
Stickers aren't just for fun anymore, they can be a major factor in a simple grassroots marketing plan. Websticker.com gives you great tips to get going and I know the staff is always willing to answer any questions you have.
