I believe custom promotional stickers and roll labels can be utilized by any business and are usually the best value for building identity and making impressions. That said, I have nothing against other promotional products which certainly have a place in strengthening businesses and client/customer relationships. What’s the best promotional products for small business?
I have written before about why stickers are very different from other promotional products in that they often are a broadcasting tool that encourages word of mouth marketing as opposed to an item designed to keep a brand or organization front of mind with one client or consumer. A bumper sticker can be a promotional billboard making thousands of impressions – a personalized pen is a gift or front of mind reminder to an individual user or receiver. Stickers can also be gifts and reminders which is why I believe they are the best promotional product for small business and the money. But, for certain industries a useful gift that strengthens personal awareness over time can be an excellent investment.

Let’s look at a few examples of customizable products and obvious industry targets:
• Custom Fridge Magnets for pizza or take out restaurants.
• Bookmarks (plastic or paper) for bookstores.
• Stress Balls for any health organizations.
• Coasters (cardboard or high end leather) for beverage companies.
• Golf tees or golf balls for anything golf related.
So what is the best promotional products for small business? There are about a million (literally) more options for imprinted promotional products. The key in deciding what might be the best promotional product for your small business is to understand the target recipient. What do your clients really want or need? How does the promotional product tie in to your other marketing and who you are as an organization. T-shirts are nice (though fairly expensive) but is that really going to be the best gift or front-of-mind reminder for an insurance agency or a car dealer? Probably not.
“When you distribute a promotion that’s sub-par for your audience, you also appear to be a poser or “not one of us”. This is not only relevant for the trades, but for any audience where membership (whether official or unofficial) is based on proving oneself worthy to be a part of the club. Think skateboarders, garden clubs, online video game communities or biker gangs.”
