At Websticker.com we design and sell stickers in bulk wholesale quantities. We have dabbled with creating sticker product ourselves (like VT euro ovals back in the 90’s) and selling them through stores. It’s not easy. As I tell many people that come to us with “great ideas” for stickers; the idea, the design and the production are the easy part. Distribution is the hard part. So I’m always impressed with people like Chris Bucci who come up with great ideas and then work their tails off to get it out in front of the public. Check out some of his “heart” sticker products.
What started out from being unemployed, questioning his future and realizing how much he loved his home, in 2004 Chris set out to create something that reminded people where their hearts were and to give back to the community he loved. Read some of his history and philosphy. From Oregon it was off to Vermont and other like minded locations to add to his product line and spread the love.
One sticker lesson we can learn from Chris and successful sticker sales is to die cut the stickers (make them a custom shape). As Chris says on his web site, sometimes success requires failure, “When the 5×4″ rectangular green heart Oregon stickers arrived, it was time to sell, time to survive. I sold exactly zero. People were not only uninterested, I could not even give them away. That was until the day a friend told me to cut out the extra white stuff around the border”. Die cutting adds to the perceived value of stickers and is also way more cool.
Congratulations to Chris! Keep up the good work and thanks for reminding us all to follow our hearts.
