How To Make The Perfect Custom Stickers for Your Business – 5 Easy Steps

Every business can benefit from custom promotional stickers! Yes, it’s true, EVERY business. Don’t think stickers can work for your business? Perhaps it’s worth taking another look. We’ve seen clever stickers for accountants, funerals, foam insulation installers, software developers, banks, septic pumpers, you name it… We love the challenge of  businesses that think promotional stickers can’t work for them. Let’s get the ball rolling, start the process, and see what awesome sticker ideas fall out that can increase your visibility and get people talking. Try this…

1) Brainstorm sticker ideas relevant to your target market. What are good fun images that people are drawn to at your company or in your industry? Do you have any fun slogans? Is your logo enough? What do you proudly stand for? If you need images or new slogans you can talk with Websticker about researching and working on a list of creative ideas.

You can also ask your customers and target market. People love being a part of the creative process for products (especially stickers). Who hasn’t had a good idea for a bumper sticker at some point in their life. Tap into that energy and involve your best customers in the idea generation process. Who knows someone might even help you draw or design something at no charge.

2) Sort It Out – After you’ve got a pile of ideas it’s time to sort out the strong from the lame, the clever from the stupid, the identity boosting from the confusing, the original from the stolen. Once you’ve got a nice handful of ideas it’s time to do some design and rough layouts and start getting feedback on favorites from friends, customers and on social media. Websticker can help with design layouts, usually at no charge. And, we have over 25 years of experience on what types of sticker designs work best.

3) Print the best sticker ideas (preferably with Websticker). Make sure you get enough custom stickers printed to keep costs down and be able to distribute freely. If a particular design is popular but more costly to print, make it a product to sell and chose another for your giveaway. You can also reduce costs by partnering with another business and giving them all (or portion) of the back printing.

4) Get the stickers out there – Offer your stickers free on-line (in exchange for e-mail or contact info), bring them to all trade shows and events, include with products and mailings, and get them out there any way possible. Remember, the stickers aren’t just a free gift, they are a badge, a conversation starter, and a mini-billboard.

5) Rinse and Repeat – keep the best sticker design(s) rolling but keep buzz alive by repeating the development process on a new or improved sticker each year.

Let us know if we can help in any way. Now get out there and Stick It!
