In a recent post I talked about promotional sticker distribution methods; Place-and-Profit, Pass-and-Pray and Prod-and-Profit. Well, another alternative to passing or placing free promotional stickers is to create sticker products that your customers will actually want to buy. Talk about easy profitable product ideas!
This works best when you already have retailing options on-line or off. So, you can just plug in a new sticker product with your other offerings as an additional profit center. Here are a couple suggestions for creating a profitable sticker product for your company.
• Don’t make a sticker for your company, make a sticker product for your customers. Pick a size, design, or slogan that really resonates with your customer. Don’t worry about your own logo unless that is the valued badge that people will want and will pay for.
• Need ideas for a design? Special contests and feedback from your customers are easier than ever with social media and crowd sourcing. Ask the people you want to buy your sticker what the sticker should be? Maybe even ask them to do the designing and have the community vote on what’s best. This also raises awareness (and possible pre-sales) before any investment is committed.
• If you are going to charge for a sticker don’t skimp on quality. Make sure the stickers will last, and look and feel like a solid, well designed sticker product. Like any retail item, there needs to be perceived value. Think beyond the basic bumper sticker or euro sticker. Consider upgrading to domed stickers, vinyl cut decals, or die cut stickers – These all have a higher perceived value (and profit margins) than a basic bumper sticker and also can be used for more applications.
Sticker products don’t take up much space, can be easily shipped at a low cost, can be included with and enhance other product offerings, and have high profit margins. Do you sell products on-line or in a retail setting? Well, what are you waiting for? Sticker products are an excellent, easy, profitable product idea.

Take an average bumper sticker,…say 3 x 9…it’s simple, white background with say two different colors in bold writing! What should I expect to pay per sticker?
Hi Scott – I’m not sure what quantity you are looking for but you can compare all prices and options on 3″X9″ (and other stock sizes) custom bumper stickers here: https://www.websticker.com/product/custom-bumper-stickers/
