At Websticker we are often asked “what’s the ‘best’ sticker you’ve produced lately.” Or, “what’s the funniest…” or “what’s the coolest design”. A few tips to keep in mind when designing & producing custom sticker hang tags:
1) Don’t make them too big… but don’t make them too small either. There is an ideal size and shape depending on your product that will limit damage from handling when hanging, but not so small it goes unnoticed later when applied. Make sure stickers are screen printed or digitally printed on vinyl for long term outdoor use. The quality of the sticker reflects on the quality of your product and brand. Make sure they are outdoor durable!
2) Make sure the customer knows it’s a sticker. It’s a shame to spend the extra money for an adhesive vinyl sticker but not have the end user know it. A face slit, an arrow and some basic copy like “peel here”, “peel and stick” or “stick it” will do the trick.
3) Make sure the hole isn’t too big or too small. A hole size that may work for hanging stickers on a display rod will be too large for the tabs attaching them to clothing. Inform any manufacturer of the specific use of the stickers and how they will be displayed or attached.
4) Follow general sticker design tips to maximize value and exposure. Remember you’re not just designing a hang tag, you’re designing an identity building mini-billboard as well.
Though this custom sticker product is most often used in the clothing and apparel market there are creative ways to attach or include promotional stickers with almost any product. Can you make custom die cut outdoor hang tag stickers with back printing? If so, may I please have a price quot for 500 hang tags, 3″x3″?
Yes, we love to design and print sticker hang tags. You can find more info and fill out a quote form here. Yes, they can be custom die cut and have back copy. There are a few ways for us to quote and cut a custom shape that includes a hole punch, so a bit more info would be helpful. Is 3″ X 3″ the size of the final vinyl sticker or the size of the sheet that smaller sticker would remove from? Would you prefer a smaller tab added to the sticker (keeping it in a custom shape when hanging) or is a square cut holding sheet (with hole) ok? How many colors are needed on the sticker? With a bit more info we can get you pricing and make any suggestion. If you use the quote form you could also attach art files so we could recommend the best way to go.
I'm always super excited when I buy something that comes with a sticker hang tag! If given the choice between a shirt with a sticker hang tag and a similar shirt without one, I would definitely gravitate towards the one with the sticker. It really makes everything feel more substantial and of a higher quality- from the product to the company itself.
